join us in building the future.

In addition to the thousands of students and community members that engage with us each year, CORE is led by a team of 50 Operation Committee Leaders (OCL) that drive the organization forward. Whether you are newly curious about entrepreneurship or are an experienced founder, we invite you to join us.

Operational Committee Leader (OCL)

OCL’s lead initiatives and events planned through CORE. From facilitating programs, such as hosting guest speakers on campus (or virtually!), to connecting with founders in the Columbia community and the broader Morningside Heights/ West Harlem neighborhood, OCLs run CORE’s outward and inward facing initiatives.

Why CORE

Our current Presidents Shane and Manasi share their stories joining CORE and why they love the tight-knit community and exciting learning opportunities here.

Any Columbia University undergrad (Columbia College, Barnard, SEAS, and GS) are welcome to apply regardless of class year, major, or experience.

i’m an incoming student and want to find a community on campus to call home. What’s CORE?

Glad you asked! Firstly, we encourage you to explore the various tabs on our website. We recognize how tough being an incoming student can be. Despite COVID-19 and the new virtual world we find ourselves in, we are pressing on as a community and are so excited to welcome new Columbia students into our family. Get in touch — we can’t wait to meet you!

i applied to CORE and didn’t get in. can i apply again?

Yes! We highly encourage students to re-apply. In fact, nearly half of CORE’s current board members were not accepted into CORE the first semester they applied. Please continue to engage as a General Body member and get in touch!
