What do OCLs do?
OCL stands for Operating Committee Leader: Simply put, as an OCL, you will lead. You’ll be responsible for running a program, initiative, or event over the course of a semester—but don’t worry, you’ll receive all the training and guidance you’ll need within CORE. Ultimately, we want OCLs to learn from and give back to Columbia’s entrepreneurship community with confidence.
When/what is the OCL application process?
Our OCL recruitment program occurs at every semester. There is an online application due within the first two weeks of the semester, then interviews will take place in the following weeks.
Apart from being an OCL, how can I get involved?
If you’re interested in media, publications, and entrepreneurship, please consider applying to write or edit for CORE Impulse, CORE’s media arm dedicated to quality reporting on Columbia and NYC’s entrepreneurship scene. Outside of becoming an OCL or writing for Impulse, you can still get involved with the CORE community by subscribing to our newsletter and attending our events.
How can I stay up to date on CORE events?
Subscribe to our newsletter to get weekly updates for all events, or like us on Facebook, where we post all of our events.
I’m a founder - can CORE help me build my startup?
If you are a startup founder, consider applying to Almaworks, CORE’s accelerator for NYC student startups.
